American-Austrian Society's Kaffee Jause
March 9, 2003 at the Embassy of Austria, Washington, DC

The Wiener Kaffeehaus Jause was initiated by President Anna Stout. Although she very much was looking forward to attend this event with her family, she did not live to see it. That afternoon, the Ambassador of Austria recalled his memories of Anna and called for a moment of silence in her honor.

Austrian Certified master Chef Willi Jonach tempted the guests' palates with his excellent assortment of belegte Brötchen (deli canapes), a variety of Austrian pastries that includes Vienna's finest Apfelstrudel, Kaffee mit Schlag (coffee with whipped cream) and tea. Morever, he disclosed secrets for making and baking all these delicacies. All present enjoyed a typical Austrian "Kaffeehaus-Atmosphere" in the elegant environment of the Austrian Embassy! Decorations by Helga Bonney and Pamela Maynard. Meinl Kaffee sponsored by Dr. Richard Meyer.
