"And I'll have a double of whatever he's having."
Diggs, the bartender, approaches your table. "How's it goin'?" he asks.
"Not very well," you reply. "What do you know about this static in the atmosphere?"
"Other than how many bad hair days it causes me?" Diggs jokes. "Well, about forty years ago, the planet was bombarded by an intense magnetic storm."
"Magnetic storm?"
"Sure," Diggs says. "Something to do with a passing asteroid. It was pure loadstone. Charged the Earth's core up real good. Didn't you ever take a geology class?"
"Sorry. I can't say that I did."
