Individuality
It is vital for a human to feel unique and to express their own personal experience of life. There is sometimes no greater need than to be recognized as an individual amongst the crowd. However, it is also vital for a human being to have a sense of acceptance and togetherness within a community or family. Therein lay the dilemma that has been the paradox of humanity for ages.
Humans yearn for individuality, yet they tend to shun the individual who has broken away too far from the collective pattern of society. It is also true that if someone seems too much the same as someone else, they may be easily rejected or ignored.
The question is; can humanity find a way to accept the collective oneness of our society, while at the same time, seek their own individuality? I believe we will, but only after we have come to understand the balance and necessity of both aspects of the human mind.
