Freelance Writer not liked by Mildred's parents or other Coleridges. Her husband, by her encouragement, sued one of her brothers for libel and won, acting as his own council. One of Mildred's cousins, Mary Elizabeth Coleridge was forbidden by her parents to see her again but some years later tried to rekindle their relationship, only to be turned away at Mildred's door.
