CRADLE OF FILTH
Cradle Of Filth is a black metal band, not an author, right? I'm not selling c.d.s from other metal bands, so why would I list them? Simple. I bought Cruelty And The Beast 3 days before I got the chance to listen to it. I read the lyrics. They are beautiful. If you don't like death metal, buy it anyway.
Wonderful epic poetry of the highest calibre, comparable to Shakespeare in many regards, with fascinating stories being told which are worth reading many times to understand their subtle meanderings.
Cruelty And The Beast is one I recommend first. It is the twisted tale of Elizebeth Bathory in all it's glory, and follows the Shakespearian tradition of Macbeth in that it blends fictional elements (The 3 Wierd sisters compared to the Sodomite, for example) but strays far from being an imitation. It's very good to see such wonderful literature in modern metal.
