DESIGNER: Benma 1/2, Mom WORN BY: Benma 1/2 CONCEPTION: March or April 2000 PICTURE DATES: 7-1, 7-30-2000 APPEARANCES: AX 2000 COMPONENTS: Bodysuit, gloves, headress PREPARATION TIME: Variable POWERS GAINED: 1. Looks brilliant when lit. 2. Can heal most of other peoples' wounds. 3. Symbolize important message. DRAWBACKS: 1. Walks slow. 2. Spikes/transformed antlers look more like dreadlocks. 3. Will blind someone under the correct lighting. 4. Everyone wants to cut off my head to gain eternal life. 5. Wearing and getting into and out of a bodysuit. STORY: Why don't you see more of these cosplayed?? I have two answers for you: No one is that crazy OR no one is that good. It isn't the second one. So Trunks cons me into doing this by showing me a couple of jpegs. No problem. Then I see the tape. Problem. Ucchan: "Are you sure you're going to be able to handle this?" Me: "Sure why not?" Why not indeed. Fast forward to 12:30 PM, Friday, June 30th. *Ring Ring* Me: "...Hello?" Trunks: "Where are you?" Me: "At home." T: "Well get over here!!" Me: "Over where?" T: "Anime Expo!!" Me: "Anime Expo isn't until next weekend." T: *Pause* "No, Anime Expo is THIS weekend!!" ..."How much of D is done?" Me: "You don't want to know." This costume was started and completed in a span of less than 21 hours. I spent 9 hours doing everything (sewing gloves, painting the suit, constructing the headress) except for sewing the actual suit itself. What I had budgeted all of the following week to do was done in 21 hours. And except for the spikes looking like dreadlocks, it looks damn good!! Even if it was the weakest costume of the group. Think of how good the others must have looked then!!
