2001 Preseason scheduleBears face AFC Central next season
The Bears match-up with the AFC Central next season in addition to their NFC slate. Chicago plays home games versus Cleveland and Jacksonville and road contests at Baltimore and Cincinnati. The Bears played Baltimore and Jacksonville in 1998, defeating the Ravens but falling to the Jaguars in Dick Jauron's final season as their defensive coordinator. Cincinnati defeated Chicago in 1995 while the Bears have not played Cleveland since 1992. In addition to its division schedule, Chicago plays Arizona and San Francisco at home and Atlanta and Washington on the road. The Bears have faced all four of those teams over the past three seasons, least recently the Falcons and Cardinals in 1998. Chicago has not hosted San Francisco since 1988 and Cleveland since 1986. Arizona has not played in Soldier Field since 1982, when the team was still in St. Louis.
