Digimon Series 02 has started and is clearly a winner. Now the spotlight is on the Digimon movie comming out OCT 6, 2000. To get a proper preview we look at past Japanese Digimon movies.

Movie 1

Timeline: 4 years before the first season.

Synopsis: Back at Terras Veiw Heights (Japan suburb) Agumon and Perrotmon appear. All the young, future DigiDestined see the battle, and because of of Tai Agumon is able to DigiVolve and beat Perrotmon.

Notes: Movie one sets up the first season and keeps a better story.

Length: Short Movie.

Movie 2

Timeline: 6 months after the first Season.

Synopsis: Everyone is on vacation when Izzy sees something pop up on his computer, a hatching digi-egg. Seeing this can't be good, Izzy contacts Tai who comes over. Gennai sends an e-mail that they can use their digimon via a computer, so Tentomon and Agumon gear up, but the creature digivolves again into a higher form and is too powerful. Tai contacts Sora, but she refuses to answer because of a fight the two had. Tai then contacts TK and Matt, but they are hard=pressed finding a computer in the country (they are visiting their grandmother). Finally, Patamon and Gabumon join in the fight, but their efforts are worthless too. Kids watching the battle all over the world send e-mails of hope and some of nonsense. Gabumon and Agumon go Mega, but the digimon reveals it's mega form, which is still too strong for the 4 digimon. The two megas fuse together to form Omegamon! A kid watching the battle tells Izzy that if he doesn't stop the creature soon, the world will be launched on with missiles. That's because the digimon has started a countdown. Izzy forwards all the e-mails to slow down the creature, and finally he is defeated with one second left to spare.

Notes: Movie keeps the story moving and fills in a bit between Season 1 and 2.

Movie 3

Timeline: Thought to take place after the end of the Digimon Emporer.

Symopsis: This movie is divided into two parts: "Digimon Hurricane Touchdown" and "Supreme Evolution: The Golden Digimentals". The movie takes place in New York City where a new Digidestined child named Wallace will be introduced, and he is said to only appear in this movie. He and Davis don't get along. Wallace has two Digimon. Their names are Gumimon and Chocomon, and they look practically identical except for their colors. This movie also introduces the Golden Digimentals, which will allow the Digimon to Digivolve into a new evolutionary stage. In addition, two of the old Digimon will reach their Mega forms.

Digimon Movie U.S.

Releace Date: OCT 6, 2000

Time line: Unknown. Probibly durring the second season or right after the first..

Synopsis: It is uncertain which of the above movies will make up the U.S. movie. Most likely it will be the second or third Japanese movie. However looking at preveiws it might be a mixture. We'll see.

Notes: Free limited edition card while suplies last with admision. Soundtrack. Taco Bell deal. It'll be a hit. As long as the critics don't try to compair it with Pokemon.
