One Possible Solution

By Jeffery Cobwater

"In my opinion, if the Japanese had been a little more brazen, and had the materials, they could have successfully invaded the United States.Instead of invading to the south into Indonesia, they could have pooled their resources, and attacked Pearl Harbor, took Midway, and landed on the West Coast. The U.S. Army and Navy was weak at the time. The Japanese could have sent a small task force, aided by the Imperial Air Forces could have swept across Indonesia and took key postions to fuel their War Machine and take care of the Southwesten Pacifc fleets.All-the-while, Japanese Army and Naval Units could land, take key places in the Rockies, take oil fields in Texas and draw a battle line up and down the chain of the Rockies.

Now, of course, there are several key factors that have to be taken into consideration.

  1. The Axis Powers would have to work together, much like the Allies did later in the war.
  2. Germany would have to do two things:One, instead of invading the Soviet Union, concentrate on Great Britian. The only way to do that is for the Luftwaffe to develop their own version of a four-engined heavy bomber and long-range fighter plane the could bomb Britain at will.Develop its rocket technology. Two, talk Italy to be the "Watchdog" over Europe while Germany was busy keeping the U.S. Atlantic Fleet busy, and use its rocket and missle technology to bombard the East Coast.
  3. That Japan come up with a convoy system that actually works.

Now, of course, eventually, the United States, Canada, and the other Western Hemispherical powers would jump in, and eventually repel the invasion. But, in this light, America would be too badly crippled to finish the war and fight by itself for a long time.It this time frame, China, France, Great Britain, Spain, and eventually the Soviet Union would fall to the Axis.It would take decades of fighting to end it.
