Brandon died peacefully at his home on Monday, October 18, 1999 at 5:05 a.m. with his family gathered around. During his final hours, his mother read a letter she had written to him. After she read the letter, she asked him if he understood. He nodded his head, smiled and said, "Yes." Shortly after that, Brandon took his last breath.
