Natural Monuments: Satu Mare - the Noroieni Forest, a reserve of roe deer; Băile Puturoasa - the Sphinx of the Oas.
Leisure: Satu Mare - the central park (1918), the Somesul leisure center; Negresti Oas - departure for Oas and the Ignis Mt.
Archaeological vestiges (year): Ardud - ruins of the Ardud fortress (1481) and the castle (1630) with the restored tower (1896) and church (1860), Mediesu Aurit - a settlement of the free Dacians (2nd- 4th c) and a castle (17th c). Monasteries (year): The Bixad Monastery (1695). Folkloric festivals: Bixad - 15 August, 8 September, pilgrimages with festive costumes; Călinesti Oas - June, the Festival of Strawberries; Cămârzana - traditional weddings, Certeze - May, the "Sâmbra Oilor Festival; Chilia - August, the Folklorik Festival of Codru area; Homoroade - July, the parade of song, dance and costumes; Negresti Oas - September, the Folklorik Event.
Agriculture, fruit growing, and zootechny: major producer of fruit and the most important one of strawberries in this country, famous for the strong and flavored Turt plum brandy.
Vineland (viticultural center): Valea lui Mihai (Sanislău), Silvania (Rătesti) and the independent viticultural center Halmeu.
Industry: machine building for mining equipment, wood exploitation and processing, textile and food industry.
