It's not Disney and I am not very impatient to see Prince of Egypt because I don't love drawings and animation .Moise is not very handsome compared to Shang, Hercules nd John Smith and other characters are not great too). Comments: Hey, guys! I just saw the long version trailer of The Prince of Egypt and, excitingly, was out of breath. The computer annimation was excellent (although not as realistic as the Huns attacking in Mulan) almost like those Final Fantasy video games. Unfortu ately the character design is unattractive(though original). You won't hear kids say "Oh look, she's so pretty. Just like a princess." or "He is a very handsome hero!" when their watching it in the movies. Also, the songs are a mix of R&B, Pop and even co ntry(and the sample I heard was displeasing). Lets hope its much better than what I saw and heard. Remember, it opens December. P.S: Mulan was an excellent movie - both visualy and musically - I hope the Prince of Egypt can stand up to the warrioress.

This usually happens to me when my favorite companies like Disney(who also owns TriStar, United Artists, Hollywood Pictures and Buena Vista), Coca-Cola(don't get me started), Capcom(a v deogame company) and EGM(a videogame magazine) get threatend by their competitors with much better products. But I do have to admit that after I watched Anastasia I had butterflies in my stomach; that movie was actually excellent and much better than SOME only 2) Disney films( and the annimation was great ONLY because it was years ahead of Beauty and the Beast and other Disney films). I remeber how Don Bluth tried to outdone the Second Dynasty of Disney films(which started with The Little Mermaid) by produ ing FernGully, The Swan Princess, Thumbelina and A Troll in Central Park. But all this "failures" were finally toppled by the strong comming of Anya(not you) and I congradulate Don and Fox for that. And just so you know I would love to have a music box th t plays Once Upon a December(that song was amazingly mesmerizing and catchy). Too bad Alliyah had to murder it. All in all Anastasia is an excellent annimated movie(and I so painfully wish Disney owned it) with catchy and sweet songs like Journey to the P st and At the Beginning. But be warned that Don Bluth films like An American Tale and Land Before Time help sprout Disney success such as The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin. About Anastasia beeing a great film, yes your right. But it still on't match Beauty and the Beast(which won a Best Picture award by the Golden Globe and was nomminated by the Academy for the same genre), Alddin(3 nomminations and 2 awards by the Academy) and The Little Mermaid(3 namminations and 2 Academy awards). Also, Anstatsia wasen't that powerful and roiginal compared to Hunchback(with its bold and mature approach in its contoversial story plot). While Anastasia is recognized for its great annimation and some excellent songs, please don't compare it to Disney movies 'cause its just gonna fall short in originality and worldwide entertainment. PS: If you read reviews about Mulan in the internet you will find that it doesn't have any negative review(its lowest score was 7/10 and thats only ONE critic) and compare that to Anstasia. It was more than what you would have expected it to be(Mulan fans who are hoping that the movie will do well, rest in peace 'cause all critics loved it). I just baught the soundtrack of Mulan and found it to be EXCELLENT and some are even very, very funny(too bad Mushu didn't sing). When I saw Anastasia the first time, I admet that I loved it.... but it's right that songs (apart from Once upon December) are not very good ( particularly compared with "The Hunchback" and "Hercules". I find that Rasputin is really nil, Anya looks like Belle and the others characters are copied out Disney (the heroine has a dog, the hero has a friend, the villain has an accomplice (an animal)). This movie is not bad, but Disney is really the best ,above all if Mulan is as wonderful as it seems to be(Personnally I hate Thumbelina and I prefer Pocahontas).

Comments: I would just like to say that I enjoyed Anastasia, but only for the first time. Yes, I have to admit that "Journey to the Past" and "Once upon a December" was catchy and the score was pretty good but thats it. Some of the animation was pretty unprofessional(the floating music box) and the script was prett "surreal". Still, it was a great movie but it wasn't very original(especially the character designs)and the other songs were weak. The story could have done better without Rasputin. They didn't give much detail on what Rasputin did to urk the Romanovs. A l in all an outstanding work but I doubdt it will ever match with Beauty and the Beast or even Mulan. I could still remember how Pocahontas over shadowed The Swan Princess. Even Thumbelina, with its great animation, still didn't match with Pocahontas. Dis ey has, and yet to come, the best animmated movies, bar none!
