Plagiarism
In the fall of 2000, it was brought to my attention that a college student in Florida committed plagiarism by submitting a 24-page paper that comprised of the articles on this site. In fact, this student used this same paper in at least one other class before he was caught by his college professor. Confronted about the matter, the student confessed to the plagiarism and later, faced with the possibility of expulsion, asked for leniency. After considering all the evidence and the circumstances surrounding the situation, the Dean of the University chose to suspend the student for his actions.
After this incident was resolved, I pulled the articles from this site because I was afraid that others were also copying my work rather than doing their own. After much time and consideration, however, I decided to put them back on my site at the request of many college professors, particularly those interested in my article on the comparisons between "The Matrix" and Plato's "Allegory Of the Cave."
With this in mind, please think about the consequences before you copy my articles and attempt to pass them off as your own work for a class assignment. Not only it is morally wrong, but you'll probably get caught and face serious consequences. This site is frequently visited by many teachers, particularly those at the college level. Some are just fans, others want to get ideas about incorporating "Matrix" ideas into their classrooms, and some are actually looking to see if any of their students are copying off the net.
