Keeping Score

This aggressive "playing",
That the children now do,
Will it instantly leave,
When the game is through?
The sudden anger at strangers,
That we come to see,
Will it just disappear,
Instantly?
This attitude we let develop,
As just part of the sport,
Will it never follow them,
When they're off the court?
If Jesus came,
To your child's game,
Would you want them to play,
Exactly the same?
Would you laugh if they pushed,
Someone out of their way?
Would you tell Him that's the game,
And how they all play.
Do you think He'd approve,
And tell you it's OK,
To let your children,
Act this way?
He's at EVERY game,
He's inside that door,
And Jesus too,
Is keeping score.
