THE PLACE HE PROMISED

The stairs amidst the cotton-soft clouds
filled with silvery dews in finest drops;
its base wrapped in royal blue,
sparkling with reflection in transparency;
so interesting, I try to discover what's within

My feet leap in jubilee
as I heard a melody in majestic sonnet
soothes deeply through my nerves -
made me quiver - a little!

As I am about to step forward,
a thin carpet full of freshly scented roses
covers the path I wish to go;
I look here and there, to and fro
but - no one's around

Suddenly a hand, the gentlest I know
touches my beginning-to-tremble one
I stare back - oh! the epitome of my man

He handled me a scroll of ruby and emerald
written firmly in exquisite letters
He uttered a word I forgot to remember
and entered a door in pearly gate and golden knob

The scroll He gave is a map of a place-
I just can't understand!
I wasn't bothered though ... I continue my trek

Ribbons in neon colors sway in constant rate
the continuous falling of lilac petals,
drops in line - guiding me a way

I climbed the stairs - my feet don't seem to tire,
each step invites an everlasting fulfillment;
that there is more to see beyond it all.

My eyes grew bigger as I reach the top
ladies in pink shower in a diamond-based pool,
some are clapping at various intensities,
others sweetly sing the hymns of peace,
and uttered the psalms of love.

I sat with someone, I never know of
the porcelain drums began a beat,
bronze cymbals clash, trumpet blows in full blast,
opal woodwinds were strummed,
the bamboo keyboards are pressed.

An aluminum door in glittering silver dusts open
as a velvet piece of cloth falls loosely from above
accented by extravagant curling laces
the letters I begin to read
create a word common to my eye.

It was as astonishing as I just can't imagine
to find my name legibly written -
woven by the finest hands no one can tell

In several moments, I couldn't move
until that same man embrace me with pride
and whispers softly the most inspiring words,
"HE is waiting for you."

He paved the way to the door, as I follow
and there in a wooden chair
carefully crafted with different stones,
lined with satin ribbons and golden rings;

I throw myself to the Lord's open arms.

My body shivers I begin to stop,
tears flow suddenly, I cannot control
turned to silver as they reach the floor

The place where I am now -
Is the place HE promised long before I was born

It is the vivid vision of HEAVEN waiting for you and me.

*** I know Heaven's far better than I could imagine, just the same, God wants us to be there with Him.
