I now can rest in the vision of what used to be,
While darkness cradles your ghost all about me;
Wrapped in the blissful arms of countless tears gone by ~~
Agony's storm has passed, leaving but a yearning sigh.

The sweet scent of your body is as present as the air,
Calling ancient memories to rise and dance with your ladyfair ~~
Weightlessly, two spirits drift about this room,
Like the mystical enchantment of an elegant perfume.

Music plays, but no one can hear,
The tune of our bodies entwined in this invisible atmosphere ~~
Your breath spilling upon my skin like a gentle breeze,
Whispering across wind chimes, moaning passionately to please.

And I will rub the fragrance of your memory on my skin;
The beads of sweat remembering where I've been ~~
My own hands replacing your once wanton touch,
With but a few remnants of you to remind me of such.

How my heart aches for the love slipped away ~~
Knowing our journey would be different if we first met today;
But the forest between us offers no path to lead you here,
So I must comfort myself with the trinkets of yester-year.

"You know that old trees just grow stronger,
And old rivers grow wilder everyday ~
But old people just grow lonesome,
Waiting for someone to say,
Hello in there, hello..."
