You've heard his name. You've probably met some of his followers.
And maybe you've even read stories about him.
But do you really know Jesus?
|
|
|
I mean KNOW him, the way a wife knows her husband or the way my dad knows me.
Maybe you are asking yourself, "Why should I bother to know this man named Jesus.
He's been dead for a long time and learning about him is a waste of time."
|
I looked for Jesus because I realized that I needed him. I needed to see something beyond this world of war, hatred, greed and selfishness. I needed help in dealing with those same problems within myself. I could not do it alone.

|
Who could truly help me? My parents? My friends? A priest? A religion? As good as some of these may have been, only an honest relationship with Jesus could help. He is bigger than any human institution. He has done more for humans than any government. He has loved more than any parent. He died for everyone.

What would life be like without the discovery of your wife or life without knowing your parents?
What is life like without knowing your God?

Here are some sites that may answer some of your questions about Jesus. If you are interested in finding out more, you can e-mail me at
jasonchim@yahoo.com
or find someone you know who is a serious Christian.
Whatever you do, get your hands on a bible. You will not
regret it.

All of these sites were written by
Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC).
I have no connection to their organization other than the fact that
a few of my friends go to the CCC fellowship at Queen's University.

Here are a few links to Christian groups that I am associated with.

East Toronto Chinese Baptist Church
My church at home in TO is East Toronto Chinese Baptist Church.
My parents brought me there since I was a baby and I was
baptised as a member in June, 1993. If you want to meet a guy
who really has his Christianity right and living it,
you should meet my pastor Alfred Lam. A great speaker, great
encourager and always available.

Bethel
In Kingston, I attend Bethel Church which has a large
membership during the school months. The church does a
great job at catering to the needs and interests of
students at Queen's with a lively and friendly atmosphere.
I am currently playing first base on the Bethel softball
team and even though our record is 1-7,
we have a blast playing ball. The words on the petals
of the church symbol are:
Evangelism, Worship, Prayer, Teaching, Service and Fellowship.
These surround a phrase in the middle:
By Making Obedient Disciples to Glorify God.

Navigators
My campus fellowship group stresses the spiritual growth
of the individual and the impact that one person can
have in this world. Participating and leading bible studies
at Navs gives me a better picture of Jesus. The
Queen's Navs
homepage isn't up, but the
Navigators International
page has quite a bit of info.
Here is a little blurb about
Sue, Dan and Rad
on the Navigators of Canada page.

Jars of Clay
This hot new group shouts out their songs not only to their
fans but also to the big man upstairs. You may have heard
Jars of Clay on the radio with their hit song Flood.
Their self-titled album has done quite well in the record
stores and they just may be touring your town next.

Urbana '96
Last Christmas featured
Urbana '96, a missions conference
held every four years in Urbana, Illinois and organized by
Intervarsity Fellowship USA. From December 27 to 31,
about 19,000 college and university students were there
in search of their potential for the service of God.
This may be as a missionary, pastor, social worker or
even sunday school teacher. No one left this conference
without a fire in their eyes.
