Jon & Linda's trip to Europe

Encompassing Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway

Okay, here's how it works. I have one page full of stuff about Germany and another page full of stuff about Scandinavia. Those pages have a little bit of description for each day and pictures where appropriate (that is, if I bothered to upload pictures for that day). It's a work in progress (as all web sites should be anyway, right?), so right now I only have a text-based timeline (below) to shoot you there. It has a list of the days, a brief description, and a link that will take you the point on the page with more description. Or, if you like, you can go to those two pages directly. Later, I hope to have a more graphic representation with maps and a red line showing our progress and all that. I hope. Anyway, till then, at least you can enjoy the pictures and stuff. Also, there is a larger (18 pages typed, single spaced) description, without pictures, of our trip. Some of you (family and friends) may have read this description, and if you just want to see a list of pictures uploaded, then you can do that too. All kinds of choices!

My suggestion is that you go down this page and click on Day 1 which takes you to Germany. From there, just read about all the stuff and scroll down, hooking to Scandinavia at Day 7, and back to Germany at Day 18. It's all pretty simple, I think. If you find it hard, tell me about it. I'll see what I can do.

So here is all the relevant stuff:

Special Tribute!

I didn't want anyone to think that "Europe through the side door" was my original idea. It's a reference to Rick Steves and his series of guidebooks and PBS specials. His guidebooks were quite helpful-- they're a no-nonsense (but with a sense of humor) look at Europe from a veteran traveler. He gives tips on what to see as well as what to avoid, and he's made friends all over so they might even give you a discount if you mention his name. And the clincher is that his books are small enough to carry around yet still be full of good info. And, I figure, any guy who makes jokes about Nutella knows his stuff.
