This page describes how to conduct a ritual to gain the love of another with candles, oils, and incenses. Choose a place where your candles will not be disturbed. A table or uncarpeted floor will be a suitable altar. When I mention candle, I mean a 7-day candle or a large votive candle unless I say otherwise. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
First, bathe yourself and annoint yourself with All Saints oil to heighten your spiritual and psychic senses. Remember, you are holy.Then, we light Vesta powder to purify the room with its smoke, to create peace, and to banish bad vibes and evil spirits.
Next we light incense. Venus incense attracts affection. This establishes the purpose of the ritual; for love, particularly monetary and gambling.
The final preparation before setting the altar up is to sprinkle Anger powder on the altar and the floor around the altar. This will absord all negative energy. A relaxation exercise may also help.

Then we set out the candles on a pink altar (pink for romance). The two white altar candles are standard, representing the purity of your intentions, and are annointed with the highly aromatic High John the Conqueror oil. Van Van oil or Altar oil are also feasible. The candles could be replaced with black for vengeance, or with a color you feel is religious or significant. A talisman between them, such as a picture of the object of affection, might be nice. I here use a heart, with significance that should be obvious. It's in red and grey for passion and the triumph of good over evil (and to make the red show up better on a pink background). Place two red candles a little down and further toward the center for love. Annoint them with Mint Bouquet oil, to attract good spirits; or Luv Luv Luv oil to be noticed. An astrological candle for the object of your desire is the focus of the spell. The color of this candle should be as follows:

Annoint it with La Flamme oil, to encourage the person to think only of you. Finally, something to represent yourself or the person for who you are doing the spell. I use the symbol for Taurus, because that is my birth sign. Light the right altar candle first if you are right-handed, the left altar candle first if you are left-handed. Then light the other altar candle, the red candles in the same order as the altar candle, and the astrological candle.
A simple mantra, repeated over and over while concentrating on the power of the layout on the altar will be most effective. A rhyme is easy to remember, and can keep coming back to strengthen you throughout the day. Try this one:
Well I will pray to God on high
That thou my constancy shall see,
And that yet once before I die,
Thou wilt vouchsafe to love me.
All life long my thoughts accrue,
And God I pray to prosper thee;
For I am still thy lover true.
Come once again and love me.
Or, write your own, more suitable to your intentions. Concentrate on what you repeat to yourself, on the energy flowing through your body, and the uplifting nature of the spell. Feel the earth energies rising to your aid in all endeavors. A few minutes a day is sufficient. If you lead a particularly stressful life, taking half an hour to meditate on this spell may make living much more enjoyable.
