Lord Louis Battenberg was involved in the Legion from its early days and became Patron.

Countess Mountbatten
The grand daughter of Lord Louis Battenberg is the current Patron of the Legion of Frontiersmen. Special arrangements were made by her father to pass his title on to her; titles are not generally passed on from father to daughter. Countess Mountbatten is also Colonel in Chief of Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. The foward to the UK Command history is by Countess Mountbatten.

Independent Overseas Command
The Commandant of the Independent Overseas Command (IOC) has confirmed that Henry Lord Kitchener as their patron and honorary colonel.
