Enchanted Rock

Though it's located virtually in the middle of nowhere, Enchanted Rock has become an incredibly popular recreational spot. People can hike or climb to the top, hike around it, camp under its shadow, explore a fissure (sort of like a cave for those of you unfamiliar with fissures)... What is that I love about this rock so much? It's hard to explain. For the longest time, I have made the journey out there with friends and family every several months or so. Maybe it's the gratification I get from hiking to the top. Maybe it's my love of camping. Maybe it's the people that go there with me. Whatever it is, I love that rock, and I'll be visiting it for many years to come.

On this page I have attempted to recreate a typical visit to Enchanted Rock. Well... 'typical' in the sense that the sort of things you're about to see pictures of are pretty commonplace to the trips I take with my friends. And we all know what that means... these pictures may get a little weird.
