Well we might as well keep the ball of happiness rolling from the recent holiday season right?
Valentines is right around the corner. It's probably a good idea for me to focus more on the "non-romantic" meaning in the February 14 date. Romance has been illusive for quite some time.
I have an idea or two of how I'll celebrate it.
While I'm on the theme of love, let me put in a plug for a website that I found called Stop the Hate. The hate that is in our hearts as humans is destroying us. We hate others because first, we hate ourselves. Many of us were taught to hate ourselves in some way. It is a disease that only true spiritual love can cure.
Someone great once said, that the opposite of love isn't hate but indifference. Indifference is "apathy". It is the attitude of "I really don't care and don't want to get involved".
Sometimes I want to not be involved. Sometimes I just want to delete this website because I'm tired. Sometimes I'm discouraged because it seems that noone is really listening to what I'm saying. Yet one grain of care remains. I might never see the results of my efforts here. So in spite of it all, I do continue to give a care even when I'd rather not.
There are times when love has to let go. Love remains, yet it characteristically does not demand or force. Sometimes to love someone else you must let them go their way. Some great spiritual teachers, and even (at least for the Christian) God in Christ says that sometimes you must "shake the dust off your feet" and keep walking. You must seperate yourself and be about the business God has for you to do.
However we must walk, may we walk in love... real love.

Happy February!
