The beginning of 1993 saw Brenda living with Jagger but their 'wild' lifestyle was making it difficult for them to do well in school. At one point, unable to copy homework from Karen, Jagger pulled the fire alarm and off they went, laughing about it. The only thing Brenda enjoyed about school was being a photographer on the school paper. She didnt know many of the kids, mainly just Jagger, Jason, and Robin. Also contributing to her inability to concentrate in school was her insecurity about her relationship with Jagger. She knew that Jagger still liked Karen. Then when Jagger was taking Karen to a college interview one day, they became stranded. Spending the night together, they admitted to themselves and each other that they had feelings for the each other. Upon returning to Port Charles, Jagger told Brenda to move back with her sister, that he and Karen were now a couple. Incredibly hurt, Brenda sought a way to hurt both Jagger and Karen. Taking pictures of Karen in the shower, she made sure that all the boys lockers had a copy. Karen was humilated and Jagger got suspended from school from fighting to defend her honor. Brenda had her revenge but she would have rather had Jagger again.
After finally graduating from high school, Brenda once again found herself in Jagger's arms. Only this time she was comforting him after Karen had brutally dumped him. At this time Brenda was working for Lila as her personal assistant when Lucy offered her a modeling job that turned Brenda into the face of Deception. Julia said alright to the job as long as Brenda went to college. Brenda, still living in the Quartermaine Mansion, eventually ended up befriending Karen when her problems became well-known. It was thru Karen that Brenda first met the brooding, sensual Sonny Corinthos.
