Ronnell was removed from
life support three days after his father, Ronnell Davis Sr., 20 jumped
or leaped with him from an overpass. Davis confronted his estranged wife,
Rosa and told her that she would never see her son again unless she agreed
to join him, but she refused and called police instead. As police arrived
to investigate they received a report where Davis had apparently crashed
his car into a cement barrier, and after climbing onto the overpass, with
Ronnell, leaped onto the highway, about 30 feet below. Davis, who was left
paralyzed from the waist down, pleaded guilty to felony involuntary manslaughter
and child endangerment and was sentenced to four years in prison.
