The baby was put into a
garbage bag and dumped into the trash at his mother's senior prom. Melissa
Drexler's water had broken the morning of the prom and upon arrival she
went to the rest room where she delivered the baby. After dumping his body
she returned to the dance floor.
Drexler pleaded guilty to
aggravated manslaughter for killing the baby and she acknowledged that
she knew she was pregnant and the baby was born alive and she acted "knowingly"
when she put her son in the trash. She could be released from prison in
three to four years.
