Sexually assaulted and murdered
Rachel's body was found
wrapped in a towel, placed inside two garbage bags, stuffed into a duffel
bag and placed in a closet in her father's apartment. She had suffered
extreme sexually related injuries, her skull and arm and legs had been
fractured, she had more then 30 wounds on her body and she was possibly
strangled or drowned.
A few hours earlier, her
father, Tony J. Dameron, 26, had reported to police that a man had taken
Rachel from her car seat while the car sat in front of his home. Dameron
has been convicted of first-degree murder and faces the death penalty.
