The baby was killed by his
mother, Wendi Hawes, 18, who had concealed her pregnancy and gave birth
to the baby in her bedroom while her mother was in the next room unaware
of the delivery. She then abandoned him in a trash container. Hawes has
been charged with involuntary manslaughter.
