CALL TO PRAISE AND PRAYER
O Lord, open our lips.
And we shall declare your praise.

MORNING HYMN

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
New every morning is your love, great God of light,
and all day long you are working for good in the world.
Stir up in us desire to serve you,
to live peacefully with our neighbors,
and to devote each day to your Son,
our Savior, Jesus Christ the Lord.
Amen.

SCRIPTURE
Psalm 51, 63, or 95; Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Isaiah 55:1-3;
John 1:1-5, 9-14; Romans 12:1-2; or other readings.

SILENCE
May conclude with a short prayer or "Amen".

SONG OF PRAISE

Luke 1:68-79 (The Benedictus); or other reading.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
The following or other litany of intercession may be prayed,
during which any person may offer a brief prayer of intercession or petition.
After each prayer, the leader may conclude: Lord, in your mercy,
and all may respond: Hear our prayer.

Together, let us pray for
the people of this congregation...
those who suffer and those in trouble...
the concerns of this local community...
the world, its people, and its leaders...
the church universal - its leaders its members, and its mission...
the communion of saints...
THE LORD'S PRAYER

BLESSING
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God,
and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
Amen.

THE PEACE
