Just wanted to check in and say hi to all you guys. I am sorry I didn't get a chance to see you all while was up there in August. Sure would have liked to. I am still on my pipes and chanter an hour and a half each day and have gotten at least good enough to play for ceremonies. I am playing for two Commanding General's and the 2nd Marine Division Association next week. You guys are my inspiration and every time I feel like its getting hard - I remember how much I have enjoyed listening to you play and tha revives my desire to become as good as I can get. I will be retiring in June of next year and I sure wish there was a way that you guys could come play for my retirement parade. What a great honor that would be. I don't know what I would have to do to ma e that happen - but it sure would suitably wind up a 26 year career. I guess I can at least wish it would happen. Maybe it would come true! Keep up the good work Guys and play on strong! I appreciate the inspiration you have all been to me and my piping. on't forget to keep a CD for me - autographed of course! Fantastic looking band. After serving in the 2 RCR Corps of Drums in Germany, l joined up in the reserve band of the Toronto Scottish Pipe Band in Toronto. Before joining the army in 1952, l was in the reserve trumpet band of the Royal Regiment of Canada until its disbandment. l was the lead drummer in the 2 RCR Corps of Drums under Drum Major Bob Craig. Really enjoy your web site.brings back memory of my past when I was just a youngster in the infantry in 1944-45 when after completing special training in Vernon BC summer 45 (6th Pacific Div)when we were suddenly moved back to Barryfield Ont in the ist wee of Aug 45 and less than a handfull of us were selected to be the first of a new breed of future RCR,s for which shorthly after ward we were transfered to the old ROTC Officers training school in Brockville this being about the end of Sept 45 or early OCt.If my memory does not fail me I beleive our CO then was a Maj.Bigham. Boy, that was a long time ago.I recall that in mid Nov 45 we a group of about 60 of us (about full strenght) prceeded from the barracks to to train station in parade oder to receive the Regimental Colours that had been stored and kept for safe keeping in London Ont during WW2.You never saw such a proud group of proud young soldiers that day.PS we had no marching band then.Makes for great memories.

P/M Duguid - I trust everything is well with you. Is the little one on the chanter yet? We're trying to start up a 1 CMBG Band out in Edmonton - Hacault and I, with Buchanan as DI. The plan is to hopefully get a PM in full-time in a couple of years (eas er said than done). Hacault and I are in Edmonton, Matsalla'a in Valcartier, and Miller's in Shilo. All the best, Keri.
