I do not think the following letter worked. This letter is no doubt out of date now. Compared to my other pages this is relatively unpopular so I have not worked on it much.
For those of you who are coming in from Google. This is part of my project to Suggest Catholic books to public libraries.
Dear Librarian:
I would like to suggest Christianity on Trial: Argument against Anti-Religious Bigotry for the library collection. It has been up as high as 500 on Amazon.com recently so it is a popular book. (Note this was written a few months ago, the most recent figure was about 4,000. You might want to drop the part of the argument about Amazon.com and go with the rest.) It was published in October of last year so it is pretty current.
The book has gotten a good review from Booklist. You can read part of the review on Amazon.com.
This book would provide some nice balance to a number of books in the library’s collection that are very critical of Christianity. It is not a defense of the truth of Christianity, like many of the apologetics books we already have, but of the historical record of Christianity in society.
Sincerely,
