THE ENTIRE CAST AND CREW Sunset Beach
January 6, 1997 - December 31, 1999
Well, folks, it's over. No more "Sunset Beach." Everyone associated with the show has moved on, and it's passed by just as quickly as it came. And everyone deserves a big cheer for all the hard work they put in. So, every few days, we'll be spotlighting a different cast member, starting in alphabetical order with the cast, then some of the bigger recurring characters, and then moving on to crew. We are now on the fourth cast member. To review past spotlights visit: Spotlight Archives.

SARAH BUXTON
Character: Annie Douglas Richards
There is no chance that anyone will ever forget Anna Claire Douglas Richards, or Annie as we all knew her, anytime soon. That one...she was something. With her fantasies, and those plots, and all. And Sarah filled every second of screen time with the maximum energy. You could see that she was into it 110%, and that made you love watching her even more. Through it all, she was always on top of things. No matter what they threw at her, and they threw her some wild stuff, she played it with a smirk and a wink, and we laughed all the way. And to think that Annie was driven psychologically by her intense need for love. It was always there, in Sarah's performances, it may not have been so visible, but you could see that it was there. It did surface at times, though, and those were the times when she really proved herself as a dramatic actress, like when Olivia would taunt her mercilessly about not being loved and Annie would be in tears. And Sarah could hold her own with absolutely anybody, no holds barred. She'd tear into the scene, scream and stomp and do what she had to do, and didn't look the least bit out of place. Gotta love that. So I'll never get that "I Love Lucy" fantasy I always hoped for, with Annie as Lucy (in retrospect, Bette would have worked, too!) and Gregory, or even Ricardo, as Ricky. I'll live. But we'll all miss Annie, and we will all miss Sarah, too! (Even though we can now see her on B&B--Congratulations, Sarah!) -
