SUNSET CENTRAL SPOTLIGHT

THE ENTIRE CAST AND CREW
Sunset Beach
January 6, 1997 - December 31, 1999

Well, folks, it's over. No more "Sunset Beach." Everyone associated with the show has moved on, and it's passed by just as quickly as it came. And everyone deserves a big cheer for all the hard work they put in. So, every few days, we'll be spotlighting a different cast member, starting in alphabetical order with the cast, then some of the bigger recurring characters, and then moving on to crew. We are now on the eighth cast member. To review past spotlights visit: Spotlight Archives.

EDDIE CIBRIAN

Character: Cole Deschanel

Eddie was one of everybody's favorites. Even when he was being mean, you understood and you still liked him. Whatever Cole was doing, Eddie made it clear why he was doing it so that you could identify and so that any change in emotion, no matter how quick, was completely comprehended and was natural. You felt like it was the same thing you'd do in the situation. When Caitlin was screaming at Cole about sleeping with her mother and he was pleading her forgiveness and defending his side, you wanted to scream "Believe him, he's telling the truth!" When the paternity test results finally came out (the real ones, that is) and Cole, backed against a wall, took Trey and ran off with him, not knowing where he was going, just that he had to get that boy away from Gregory, you wished you had a place where you could hide him. When he was in the church and Gregory marched in and had Ricado take Trey from Cole, you felt felt his hopelessness. And you felt about as down as he did when he retreated to a bar, wrinkled clothes, five o'clock shadow and all, and tried to drink his troubles away. We were all sad when he left, and he didn't get much of an exit, but we cheered when that door opened on New Year's Eve and Caitlin got her "Dimples" back. We were happy with him then, too. Duante
