A warning.
I went out for a bit of 5-a-side with some of the lads from work yesterday evening and it damn near killed me. Easy, I thought at first. I've got about 10 years on some of these guys. If not running rings round them, I should at least be able to beat the
over 5 yards. Alas, like the Wednesday, I'm not having a good season. After 5 minutes I was breathless and deeply regretting running around so much in the first 30 seconds. After 10 minutes I was convinced the pitch was an optical illusion and in fact no
less than 4 miles long and 3 wide. After 20 minutes my lungs were threatening to put an end to this foolishness and take me down from the inside to stop me stretching
them to breaking point. By half-time I wished I was dead.
