Date: | What's New! |
June 28th: | Floor 7! had it's 10,000th visitor today! Wow! That makes 3 outta 7! |
June 5th: | I just want to say thank you everybody for their patience and understanding. Over the past couple of weeks, email and hotel registry complaints reguarding a wide-spread gallery problems we've been having have begun to surface. I've known about this problem for some time and have been slowly but surely working to fix it. See it all goes back to the beginning of the Hotel when I didn't know any better. Geocities only gave 2 million bytes, so thinking I was so cunning, I only imput information in the height coding for each picture gallery. This worked out fine for me, with my Netscape browser, but as soon as we started having guests, we started getting letters. People with IE and older (3.0 or less) versions of Netscape, were unable to view the gallerys. Instead they were getting toothpick pics. My bad.. Since that time, I have gone in and updated many galleries so they are equipped with full HTML coding (both width and height!) and I've even fully converted some galleries to thumbnails instead of sized pics. In the past I had always recommended that the person update their browser to the newest available one, but I think there must be something different in the last update of Internet Explorer because it's back to the toothpicks for our non-updated galleries. For now until the problems is completely fixed (and with 26 guys it will be awhile) I can only suggest you convert to Netscape or individually click on each picture to view it. I'm really sorry for any inconvenience this has caused anybody, and please don't give up on us. I'm only one person! ;) Thanks! |
May 26th: | Today and yesterday just might end up to be two of the luckiest days of my life. Yesterday I got an email that I had won the naming contest for our company's intranet (The Water Cooler - pretty cool name huh?). Anyway, winning that meant an extra $100 on my pay check! That was cool. And then today when I got to work I discovered that The Penthouse had it's 40,000th visitor at around 10:00 a.m!! Shortly after that, I talked to my mom who informed me that our cat Licorice, who had been missing for a week, had mysteriously appeared on our back porch at 5:00 a.m. that morning. She was really skinny, but okay. That alone had me in a really good mood, but the next thing that happened blew that mood into the statosphere! I suppose I should back up a little and give you a little information on the best radio station in the world! STAR 101.5! See at work we have a radio that we listen to all day. On Wednesday I was listening to Star and right now they are holding a contest where they play a song at 7:15 and any other time you hear it during the day, if you're the 101st caller, you win $1,000, so on this particular day I had written down that the song of the day was Sheryl Crow's A Change Will Do You Good, it was supposed to be playing between 11:00 and 12:00 noon, and then again between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m., well to kinda make a long story short, when the song came on at 11:01, I jumped on the phone and started dialing like a mad woman. My phone at work doesn't have redial, so I figure I probably dialed about 7 or 8 times and then the DJ answers "Hello, Star 101.5". He said it so calmly that I almost thought I had called during the wrong song. Especially seeings he didn't tell me I was like caller 55 or something like that, so I asked, "Um, what caller am I?" And very simply he says, "101." All I could say was "Ohmigod", over and over, and over! He was asking me all sorts of questions which I was having problems answering like did I have kids, or was I married. I was so astounded I continued to say OHMIGOD. Looking back it was kinda funny, and even the DJ was laughing at me. Anyway, so on June 12th I get to go get my check at the station, so who knows, maybe I will actually get my new computer now! |
May 20th: | As I'm sure you've noticed there haven't been any updates in quite a while. I have a really good reason though, I swear! Let's see, I went on vacation (a cruise and it was a blast! - should I ever come up with a bunch of extra time I don't know what to do with, I just might put together a website to commemorate the awesome trip!), continued to work my exciting job, and moved. All around the end of April. In that same vein, I didn't bring my computer with me when I moved. It's so beyound dead that I've pretty much given up on it, sooo, for the time being, I'l most likely be doing any and all updates on either my parents' or housemates' computer. Then if all goes well, (and I get my visa paid off from my vacation) I'll take out a loan for a new computer and be well on my way to finishing the Hotel! Oh, before I forget, I'll be typing in a few numbers that I checked out last weekend (just basic hit counts on all the major pages...) Check them out below, dated May 14th! |
May 14th: | Due to some chan major changes lately (as explained above) It's been awhile since an update, but I did check out the numbers on the hotel, while home for Mother's day. Here goes: |
March 8th: | Val's Room had it's 30,000th visitor today! Good grief!! (j/k Congrats to him!) |
March 7th: | Val's Gallery had a bit of a revamp last night. I went in adding thumbnails to the first three galleries and also changed around the number of pictures per gallery (some had 5 to 6 rows!) Now you'll find 4 neat and tidy rows for easy viewing and loading. |
February 29th: | Val's Gallery had it's 10,000th visitor today! WOW! |
February 28th: | Keanus's Gallery had it's 10,000th visitor today! WOW! |
February 27th: | Quick run down. No new pics this week (I'm house-sitting in an AOL equipped house.. yick) The only editing I've been able to do is pure HTML. In the Penthouse, I edited the second index (you know the one with the less obnoxious wallpaper) I've made that the quicker to load Penthouse with a midi instead of wav. I updated both of those indexes to show Nick Lachey in the list at the bottom. You might also notice a non-functioning link for David Boreanaz. First of all, we will be adding him. He will be GOD #26, but secondly, as you know there are so many other things to do, it will probably be a long while before that page appears. On Floor 2, I've added the new guestbook to both Billy and Brad's pages (plus I did a quick update of their ages since Billy's b-day was a couple days ago, and Brad's last update was a couple days before his b-day in Dec.) Nothing new on Floors 3, 4, 5 or 6. But on Floor 7 there is of course the addition of Nick Lachey. This is also probably where David Boreanaz will be going (dang I'm gonna have to think of something seeings both of the new guys are repeat names...) but like I've mentioned that won't be for a while. Floor 8 (which isn't really called that, but it's where all the other stuff is located, like the Candystore, Giftshop, Janitor's Closet, Lounge and Dungeon) has had a few major updates, especially the Candystore. I've finally done some bigtime work on the Model's section. Pics should load faster and are now in rows of 5 for quicker viewing. I believe there are only a few pics missing for all the nominated models. I also started the same process on the Actors page and it's about halfway done. I have all intentions of accomplishing the same thing with the musicians in the very near future and when that's done, I will finally start the Athletes' section! I will also be uploading several new pictures into the Dungeon as soon as I get home. (speaking of the Dungeon with the addition of 2 new GODs, you can be sure there will be new women added - Mariah Carey and Jessica Simpson spring to mind - so be sure to look for that - and as another note, thank you to a former co-worker, Jeff, for pointing out that Rene Russo wasn't in the first 2 LW movies - my bad!) I also have been messing around with these update pages. Because each html file only holds about 30k, and I'm a bit wordy, there are 5 seperate update files going back to the birth of the H.o.G Hotel. You'll see links to all of them below the latest updates. With all the new room on this file, you might see a bunch of updating coming soon (plus I'm planning on going back between now and the beginning of the year and adding the birthdays I forgot like JOC, MD, MG, and RSL - who's I think is actually tomorrow, but you know what I mean). I will also be doing a quick run down of current or coming soon movies like I've done before. Stay tuned! :) |
February 24th: | Happy Birthday to Billy Zane! He's 34 today! |
February 21st: | Hi guys! Sorry about the lack of updates in here. I have been hard at work on the pages, I just haven't been getting it all typed in here. Bear with me and I'll do a quick run-down of what's new, and what's improved! |
February 18th: | Happy Birthday to Matt Dillon! He's 36 today! |
February 17th: | Happy Birthday to Jerry O'Connell! He's 26 today! |
February 3rd: | We've added a new GOD (though his page has a long way to go) NICK LACHEY!!! |
January 10th, 2000: | Happy New Year to all. I'm sure you've noticed the lack of updates and there really is a good reason for it. My computer didn't survive Y2K. It will run for a few minutes at a time before performing some sort of illegal manuever. I'm using those few minutes to rescue what I can from the hard drive. I will be looking for a new computer very soon (and grudgingly taking a loan out to finance it... ech!) so for now I'll have to do any/all my updating from my parents pc, so I doubt there will be any new pics for awhile. Please keep the faith that the Hall O' Gods will live on (because it will) and in the meantime, go back and check out some of our links and other features that you haven't before. :) We'd love any and all feedback. Thanks! :) Tanya (speaking of which, use the Penthouse to check out our new guestbook!) |
