Ami the Virgo
Virgo the Virgin and Ami-chan: are they parallel? Let us find out...

According to my book (Please refer to the box below the navigational table), "Understand Yourself Through Numerology And The Stars", people under the sign of Virgo tend to be quite conventional. They are organized people, feeling secure only when everything is in its right place. Virgoes are likely to be successful in whatever they choose to undertake, but ideally, they make good economists, politicians and strategists. A Virgo's waterloo is usually human relationships, with their being too reserved, but people know that they are very dependable, and are willing to help whenever they can. Leisure time is usualy spent in either artistic or intellectual pursuits.

Ami is as conventional as a typical Virgo can get. Her manners, her clothing and her speech reflect that fact (quite amusingly, too!). Most probably she is as organized as she looks, with all her high grades and academic achievements. In the manga, in fact, she wails that her schedule has been badly delayed everytime the others dilly-dally in their studying. ^^

Ami seems to be quite successful in her chosen fields of expertise. Her academic records are stellar and she is quite good at her swimming. Why, she's even good at baking! And also, she has done quite a great job serving as the strategist for the inner senshi, saving their lives on more than one occassion...

It is also quite true that Ami-chan has difficulty with human relationships. She had strained relationships with her father, who doesn't live with them, her childhood friends who discriminated against her for being smart, and she is even shy around boys! It must have taken Usagi a long time to finally draw her out--especially since she never had friends before.

It is interesting to note that Ami-chan does indulge herself by reading (or even studying ^^) in her leisure time! Whether she be at the beach or in the bus with the gang (and even when she's in the tub, just like in this cute manga pic), a book is perpetually shoved in front of her nose. It has also been said that she has been on the internet as well, though I'm not sure.

Amazing, ne? Could it be that Ami-chan is actually Virgo herself?
