Q I just loved Aaron Spelling's TV drama Titans, which had all the earmarks of a long-running series. Why was it canceled?—Alexa Lynch, Medford, N.Y.

A Poor ratings. "NBC was very good to us," says Spelling, 77. "But, looking back, if I had one request, I wish Titans had been put on later than 8 o'clock. The show was too sensual and campy for that early time slot." We agree, though Titans' problems went deeper than that. Audiences today don't seem interested in nighttime series about the spoiled rich. Even steamy scenes of Yasmine Bleeth slathered in oil and wearing a gold lamé bikini couldn't breathe life into this sudless soap.

Aaron should have wished for some better writing, too.
