From the October 24th Soap Opera Update:

Ingo Rademacher is on top of the world Although it was like leaving family, Rademacher recently departed his role as Jax on GENERAL HOSPITAL to join the cast of Aaron Spelling's new nighttime serial TITANS. He'd been eager to pursue a new challenge for some time. Personally, he's in negotiations to buy a house that overlooks his favorite environment—the beach, where most of the sports and competitions he loves take place. He takes friends for weekend jaunts to Catalina on his own boat. Let's face it: He's got it all!
Or so it would seem. Rademacher still hasn't found anyone with whom to share his happiness... and that remains the missing link in the actor's life. "I'm a big believer in finding your perfect match, your twin soul," he says. "I'll know it when it hits me. It hasn't come close. When it happens, it's going to be great, though. I'll have somebody to share all my toys and activities with, and someone to go away with. I really want to travel, but I want to wait until I'm with somebody. I'm not interested in doing it by myself—I'm so not into it. I've been there and done that. I've done vacations by myself... and I'll never do that again."
Rademacher is hoping that a new job and new schedule will make it easier to meet someone, although he says the dating game isn't his cup of tea and nightclubs don't work for him. Besides, he says, he's very shy.
"I'm not very good at making the first move. I hate going over and chatting someone up. And with me, everyone assumes right away, 'Oh, he's a player,'" says Rademacher, who insists that he's quite the opposite. "I'm hoping that working on the new show will allow me to get out a little more and get involved with some charities like Heal the Bay, which cleans up Santa Monica Bay. I want that as my local charity and have Greenpeace as my international charity. Hopefully, I'll run into some cool people when I get more involved in the environmental charities. Being at GENERAL HOSPITAL really isolated me a lot, because I saw the same people every day and really didn't get out much."
Even though it was the fruition of a dream, it was tough for Rademacher to leave the show that he called home for four-and-a-half years. In fact, as he addressed the cast and crew around the farewell cake, he got choked up.
"GENERAL HOSPITAL really was like a family, although that's such an overused term. (Executive producer) Wendy (Riche) was like a mother to me. She treated me like a son, and I'll keep having a relationship with her. I'm going to miss all those guys," says Rademacher, who says it really isn't like he's left, because he keeps in touch with everyone.

So why the need to leave at all? "It's just like anything in life," he explains. "Once you stop challenging yourself and moving forward, what are you doing? That goes for your personal life as it does in your business or professional lives. You have to keep doing new things. As an actor, you want to play new characters and explore new roles. You want to show people you can do something else and entertain them in a different way."
Rademacher says that his new TITANS character David O'Connor, who enters the canvas on the second episode, is more like him than GH's Jax. "This guy makes mistakes," Rademacher says with a laugh. "Yes, Ingo makes mistakes, although not as many as David will make. He will do things he'll regret and there will be a lot of conflict. I love dealing with obstacles and figuring out the scenes and what the drama happens to be. And there's a lot of it. It's going to be a lot of fun because there are a lot of new kids on it. It's cool when you're all kind of starting together. It was that togetherness I felt when I did PARADISE BEACH early in my career.
Rademacher felt at ease with his new cast and crew immediately. "I fell into it right away. I wasn't nervous at all. Of course, it hasn't really sunk in yet," he says. "But I'm loving it. Things are great right now. I really can't complain about anything."
     Except maybe finding love!

Good thing he's keeping in touch with the folks at GH. If Titans' ratings don't improve, he might need his old job back.
