Desperation Stephen King
Discuss This Book--I think the word for this book is strangge. Good, but strange. It begins on a dusty, lonely highway in the middle of the United States. A strange cop stops several people seemingly at random, and brings them into his hometown of Desperation. The story starts getting strange when he screws up the miranda rights, and includes the words "I'm going to kill you" as one of their rights.
Literally by miracle, the people he brought to Desperation escape from their prison cells. At first they want only to get out of the strange town... Then they realize that they've got to defeat the weird cop, whatever he is. The book was very fast paced, and entertaining.
