The Utopia Project

Most people wanted at least once in their life to peek into the world's life in the future. Alas, the future is something we can only dream about, and maybe try to transform our dreams into reality. Once in a while, people become aware of something they do not like in the present, but very few people can imagine how it would look like if these annoying circumstances were removed. However, a sum of individual guesses may become a vivid picture of our goal in the historical development of the humanity, and this idea of the future may lead people to practical actions to materialize it.

Let us forget for a moment of the imperfection of our life and our thought, and dream together of a perfect world, with a perfect society living in it. Let everybody contribute to the collection of ideas presented on these pages, in order to outline a kind of future much more friendly and comfortable than our today.

Facets of the future:

Technical issues

To communicate your opinions and suggestions, use any one of the ways described on the contact information page.

Ideas of any sort are welcome. You may indicate the category (or categories) to which you intend to contribute. However, I cannot guarantee that your words will be exactly reproduced, since I have to maintain a kind of conceptual uniformity; for this purpose, I will filter your suggestion through my personal understanding of things and present my own interpretation of it. Occasionally, this interpretation may be somewhat different from what you intended to say. Of course, you are free to reproduce the original text anywhere you like; for example, I could suggest you submitting it to HiLight where it would be available online in the authorized form, in any language.

Also, I encourage you to create your own Utopia page(s), so that you might place there the conceptions of the future which you find more acceptable. Send me your URL, and I will be glad to link to you. I would readily share my Web authoring experience with you, if you need.

By default, I will just mention your name in the list of contributors. However, you may indicate any other ways of reference, from anonymous contribution to the full name and address.

Note: Within the Utopia project, I will never specify which idea has been suggested by which person - this agrees with the very nature of ideas: they do not belong to a single person, but rather represent a social tendency. You should be prepared to share the same idea with many other people.

The submissions do not need to be original. You might find something interesting in the books, or hear it from somebody. Ideas cannot be copyrighted, and everyone has the right to "own" any idea as soon as it came to light.

You may also send your questions to me, concerning the aspects of the future you would like to be discussed on my Utopia pages. I will try to answer any questions, if I can.
