Stony Freedom
Music: Paul Jones

In the stony country,
where the sky is gray,
many people live bent down
and silently pray.
In the stony country,
never leaving the track,
everyone's bearing a stone
on their patient back.
Mr. President says, "Freedom is at home in this land."

    What freedom is this?
    What freedom is this?
    They've got a stony freedom.
    What a freedom it is!

In the stony country,
everything is stone:
any sweet affection,
any daring hope;
they grow stony flowers
on the stony grass;
they've got a stony future
and a stony past.
Mr.President says, "Freedom is the light of our hearts."

    What freedom is this?
    What freedom is this?
    They've got a stony freedom.
    What a freedom it is!

In the stony country
people buy and sell —
Money stone is yellow
like the trade itself.
People exchange their stones
to get yellow one.
Then they dream up freedom,
but there's no starting gun.
Mr.President says, "Freedom is what we fight for on the Earth!"

    What freedom is this?
    What freedom is this?
    They've got a stony freedom.
    What a freedom it is!
