SportsDo you like sports? I do not. Here are my reasons why. I suppose that any competition reminds of the animal origin of humanity. The human begins where one has no need to fight for a place under the sun, to compete with other human beings for something that cannot be shared. Of course, the world cannot be called too prosperous as far, and most things are not abundant enough to satisfy everybody's needs. However, this only means that someone's refusal to struggle for life should be valued even higher. Say "I will not compete with anybody!" - and you will become a person, rather that male/female representative of a biological species called homo. Sports are mostly the way to satisfy the beastly instincts of the people. Therefore, they do much more harm to people's souls than add to their bodily health. Especially, when one does not go in for sports, but rather observes the competition of others as a sports fan. Of course, I distinguish, say, skiing as an individual way of recreation from skiing as a kind of sports, a competition (however, the necessity of any special muscle exercises just indicates the deformity of the contemporary way of life and work; normally, all the exercise needed should be naturally involved into everyday activities). Also, an experiment designed to investigate the biological limits of the human body should be distinguished from the silly chase for records. Modern sports have long since become a competition of medicines, rather than humans. Doping is everywhere, and the sportsman's organism gets crippled and exhausted by the strains that are in no way necessary for anything but getting dirty money. The animal degradation of people in the sports is clearly evident in that most competitions are commercial, that is, a kind of show. Look at the wild crowds of fans - that's all to it. Moreover, I will never believe that a sportsman gaining millions of dollars a year can be of more importance for the development of humanity than a scientist earning just several thousand - or a gardener, a cook, a miner, a shoe cleaner.
