Methodist Genealogical Society

The Methodist Genealogical Society works with, but independently of, any current United Methodist Church organization. It is open to anyone worldwide with the interest in the purpose and goals of the society. Membership in or connection to the United Methodist Church is not a requirement.

Greetings! I come from a family chock-full of Methodists back at least six generations. I began researching their Methodist records in 1998 and discovered that it wasn't easy to do so. The Methodist Genealogical Society and the Methodist-L@Rootsweb.com mail list are two results of trying to put our resources together to help everyone find their Methodist ancestors. I look forward to our future efforts. Click on my name at left to go to my home page, or click here to e-mail me.

Mark is a clergyman whose path is leading him to "combine spirituality and genealogy into a ministry opportunity. " He is researching "how our ancestors' spirituality and faith (or lack thereof) goes with us from generation to generation." He also is considering becoming a certified genealogist and is a part of the 2 year Academy for Spiritual Formation sponsored by the Upper Room.
