Swiss Steak (Crock Pot)
2 lb. round steak
1/4 Cup flour
2 tsp dry mustard
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
3 Tbsp butter
2-1/2 Tbsp oil
1 onion, minced
2 carrots, grated
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 lb. tomatoes, chopped
2 Tbsp Worchestershire sauce
3 tsp brown sugar
Cut steaks in 6 equal portions
Mix together flour, mustard, salt & pepper
Coat steaks thoroughly with flour mixture
Brown steaks in half butter half oil
Put steaks in crock pot
Heat remaining butter & oil
Saute onion, carrots & celery until onion is transparent
Add tomatoes, Worchestershire sauce & brown sugar
Cook for 3 minutes
Pour vegetables over meat with liquid
Cook covered, on low about 8 hr
