Mix these candies with Christmas cookies on your holiday
platter. They're different and delicious
1 cup sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
6 cups wheat flake cereal or flaked cereal
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup semi-sweet real chocolate chips
In 2-quart saucepan combine sugar and corn syrup. Cook over
medium-high heat until mixture comes to a full boil (3 to 4 minutes).
Remove from heat; stir in peanut butter until smooth.
In large bowl combine peanut butter mixture and cereal; stir to coat cereal. Press into buttered 13x9-inch dish.
In small saucepan over low heat melt
butterscotch and chocolate chips (2 to 3 minutes). Spread over cereal mixture.
Cool completely; cut into squares
Microwave Directions:
In 2 1/2-quart casserole combine sugar and corn syrup. Microwave on HIGH, stirring after half the time, until mixture comes to a full boil (3 to 5 minutes).
Stir in peanut butter until smooth.
Stir in cereal; stir to coat cereal
Press into buttered 13x9-inch dish.
In 2-cup measuring cup combine butterscotch and chocolate chips. Microwave on MEDIUM, stirring after half the time, until chips are melted (3 1/2 to 5 minutes). Stir until smooth. Spread over cereal mixture.
