We found this giant Redwood tree in the Giant Forest in Sequoya National Park CA. Here's the kids checking out a Stand of Redwoods.

Crazy Horse National Monument, near Mt. Rushmore, has been under construction since 1948. There is still no anticipated completion date, but the face was dedicated on June 3, 1998, the 50th anniversary of the start of the memorial. (Notice the man rappelling down the nose). They now have their own web site!

The Big Boy is just about the largest steam engine ever built. Weighing in at over a million pounds, only 25 were made. This one is on display at the Forney Transportation Museum in Denver. This is a closeup of the Drivers (The wheels that apply the power). This is a another picture taken from a nearby overpass.

In Egypt, we went Camel riding on our last leg of the trip up to the pyramids.

Stan Fox had a big crash at the start of the 1996 Indy 500. He suffered major head injuries but has recovered fully. I don't believe he has returned to racing. Another view. And the aftermath.

I built this Telescope in 1990. It has a 14.5 inch mirror.

Our airplane shredded a tire on the takeoff from Washington DC en route to Denver. We landed okay but had to wait on the tarmac while they changed it.

During our whale watching trip off Maui, we got quite close. Shortly after the whales swam off we saw this.

Here is a White Tiger and a sleeping Lion at the National Zoo in Washington DC. A Rabbit near the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. An Egret in the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge in Virginia. We can't forget Oscar, our Gold capped Conure (a relative of the Macaw). Also the deer we saw while camping.

Well, now that we're on the subject, dosen't Karen have the biggest smile? Doesn't this picture of six year old Steven (the Gymnast) doing a Split look absolutely painful? But, he's been doing it for years now.
