The 'Maroon bells', mountain formation is set in the Colorado Rockies, not far from Aspen. It's snow capped red rock sweeps down to meet the clear blue lake below, where pine and aspen cling to the steep walls of the glacial valley. Over the years these mountains have been the subject of many paintings, you can well see why.
