Salsiccia con Vino/Sausage with Wine


  • 1 lb. Italian Sausage
  • 1 small onion
  • sprig of rosemary
  • sprig of sage
  • 1/2 cup dry red wine
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup boiling water

    Brown sausage in butter and oil. Add water, onion, sage, and rosemary. Cook slowly for about 1 hour. Add wine and simmer about 15-20 minutes.

    SERVES: 4-6
