Why do fundamental Christians seem to hate us?

To understand the venom that pagans are often treated with, one must understand the fundamental Christian universe. It is a black and white universe with only two deities (I know Jehovah is split into God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, but in essence they treat him as one being),God and his opponent Satan. Therefore on this premise, ANYTHING that is not of God must necessarily be of Satan. There are no shades of grey in this philosophy, no colors, only "right and wrong". Added to this there is no injunction to not cause harm. In fact Jehovah has often enjoined his people to cause harm, often without provocation (ask the Caananites who the Holy Land belongs to). This is allowed because in their universe Satan cannot be bargained with or allowed any quarter or they "join" Satan's side. It is also believed that God has given them the earth and everything in it to do with as they see fit (God created Earth for man's use.) If Satan or one of his minions has possession or use of this, then it is perfectly right to take it away from him or destroy it. It is a War after all. This seems extremely narrow and selfish to a pagan but it is actually what they believe. It comes down to the fact, that if they treat us fairly and with respect, they have compromised their stand on God's side and they are giving aid and quarter to the "enemy".

But what about Jesus? Wasn't he a good and noble man, would he condone this? Yes he was, one of the best humans to have walked the planet, in my opinion in the same league as Buddha, Ghandi, Arthur and numerous other old souls who have graced our history. And no I don't think that Jesus would approve of attacking people, he preached love and his concern was always first and foremost for people. If Jesus had encountered a pagan, he would have traded parables, shared a meal and brought the pagan to him with the depth of his love and compassion. Unfortunately, and this saddens me immensely, most Christians have forgotten that Jesus came and ended the war. In their mythos, Satan is already vanquished(he's just hanging around being a pest until the millenium when time will end), and their task is no longer to wage war but to bring the rest of humanity to God with their love.

When a Christian attacks you, do not be offended. It really isn't personal. By their faith, they must oppose Satan whenever they encounter him or lose their relationship with God. Also remember that fundamental Christianity draws many young souls to it, with it's blanket promise of forgiveness. When a three year old calls you names and kicks your shins, you realize what it is, the tantrums of a child who hasn't learned better. And though you deplore the act, you know that as the child grows under the guidance of his parents, this behaviour will stop. This is true also of those souls who attack you now, eventually they will mature beyond that sort of behaviour (granted it may take several lifetimes), but you and I know that this will happen, because pagans have room for everyone in our color filled Universe.
