Death is not the end, rather it is the time between transformations from one earthly existence to another. It could be said that being alive is a school for spirits, while we are alive we are learning, maturing, gaining experience and wisdom, and at the end of the "day" we go home from school. We rest for a time reviewing our lessons and then we go back to school to learn more. Most of us lose our memories of our previous lives so that we can start with a fresh slate, freed from previous mistakes.
Each cycle we have the opportunity to grow or relapse as our wills dictate; to correct the injustices and evils we performed upon other spirits in earlier lives; to repay debts that we have incurred. All living things move through this cycle as each strives to grow into the Glory that was the One. For some it will take much longer, for others the path is short, but each living entity's path is it's own and should be respected.
Death is not to be feared;
for as you do not fear the time before your birth, you should not fear death as it brings you back to the same place. The Wise know this.
By the same token you must not cause death unnecessarily, for our mortal eyes cannot judge when another's lesson is over.
