Farmer in the Sky
(1950)

This is a story of homesteading the solar system. In screening applicants for colonizing Jupiter's moon, Ganymede, the board accepts accordian-playing Bill Lerner as a "cultural asset". As you may well imagine, relocating to this desolate outpost deals Bill and his family more than it's fair share of disasters -- and triumphs. One of Heinlein's best characterizations in a story about character-building. Enjoyable!
